| Venue Name: | Crystal Coast Quilt Show | | Description | | The 27th annual judged quilt show, "Coastal Stars," will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16, 2009 at the Crystal Coast Civic Center, 3505 Arendell Street, Highway 70, Morehead City, NC.
In conjunction with the 2009 show, CCQG is honored to host "Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece." This traveling exhibit of fifty-two art quilts is part of the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI) whose mission is to raise awareness and fund research through art. Ami Simms is the curator for this extraordinary and moving exhibit. We are continuing to seek sponsors to help us support this show. The show will be open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on both days. Features of the show will include: a Merchants' Mall, a silent auction, drawing for the donation quilt, demonstrations, displays, a Guild Boutique, and the CCQG's challenge quilts. Last year's show included over one-hundred quilts. Admission is $5.00 which is good for both days. Children under the age of twelve are admitted free.
