The RIVERKEEPER® Film Festival will be celebrating its fifth year of showcasing some of the best in documentary and independent environmental films. For the first time, this exhibit will be open to submission of photographs and posters by the 8th grade classes of Middle School students from Craven, Pamlico and Carteret Counties. All submissions must reflect the beauty and problems related to the Neuse River. The event will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of New Bern at 308 Meadows Street in New Bern on January 17. Everyone is encouraged to mark their calendars to attend the reception of punch and snacks at 1:30 before the 2 pm screening and a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 before the 6 o'clock show. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children. Photographs by Neuse Riverkeeper adult photographers featuring the Neuse River will be available for purchase. Pictures and posters from students will not be sold. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate the beauty of our river as 2010 is the 30th anniversary of the Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation.
